Where I Iive

I am currently living in Knocnacarra, on the outskirts of Galway city.
It's quite a big area, with about 13,000 people living there and has grown hugely, as have many suburbs in Ierland in recent years. When I first came there, 23 years ago, there were only two estates, but now I hardly know my way round the place myself! unfortunately, also as with many other areas in Ireland also, there was very little planning in the area and traffic, as well as lack of facilities are a problem.

Galway itself is located on the west of the city and is known as the City of the Tribes. Galway is and unplanned city and there are lots of interesting streets and and laneways. It is steeped in history and culture and is a very popular tourist destination. During the summer in particular, there are a number of festivals on such as the Arts Festival and the world famous Galway races. For relaxation, you can't beat a stroll anlong the prom of Galway Bay.
